Michael is the Executive Chef at The Landings and has an innate passion for creating exciting food and enjoys using innovative cooking techniques. He has extensive experience in cooking menus from local to international cuisine.
Originally from county Wicklow in Ireland, Michael has been in Australia for 23 years. His love for cooking bit when he was a young lad, and he began working in a professional kitchen from the age of 14. For over 29 years, he has worked in numerous professional kitchen environments across the globe including Ireland, England, Spain and now here in Australia.
Michael’s role involves overseeing all kitchen staff and raw food ordering and stock management at The Landings including preparing menus for and cooking for café service, take-away chilled meals and a variety of dinners, special events and the ever-popular BBQ cooking school for residents.
Michael says some of his favourite aspects of his job at LDK include creating new menus, seeing residents enjoy the culinary delights he creates, working with, mentoring and teaching his team modern cooking techniques and smiling at work everyday.
