Amandeep is the Head Chef at Greenway Views and has 15 years of diverse work experience gathered through working in restaurants, including 5-star ones, hotels, cafes, pubs and clubs in Sydney and Canberra.
His passion for cooking was ignited as a young boy; he remembers always being with his mother when she was in the kitchen. His father wanted him to be an accountant, so he studied accountancy, got an accounting degree, then studied commercial cookery for 3 years in Sydney.
Amandeep joined LDK in 2021 as a sous chef and became head chef after a year, in 2022. His role involves crafting weekly menus for the cafes, daily buffet and home deliveries, as well as monthly menus for the restaurant and special events. He oversees kitchen operations including raw food ordering, staffing, and cooking.
He loves cooking, trying different ingredients and bringing new menus to the table. He enjoys being hands-on, and creating new dishes with the team so that they are kept interested and learning. He considers his team as his second family, “I could not do what I do without the contribution of each person on my team.”
Amandeep says the challenge of constantly improving and surprising people with what he can do, and the happiness he gets from residents appreciation is the most satisfying and rewarding part of his job at LDK.
