What is supported living?

Care & support

Supported living means you live in your own home or apartment and receive the help you need, when you need it. For older people in Australia, this often includes help with daily activities like meal preparation, personal care, medication support and transport. The goal is to maintain your independence and quality of life while having support nearby.

Amberfield Care

How supported living works at LDK

At LDK, you live in your own private apartment in a welcoming community. Personalised care is delivered to the privacy of your home by our onsite team, 24/7 if required. Your support can increase or decrease over time, so you can stay in the same community, close to friends and familiar routines. We call this Our One Move Promise®.

Funding and costs

  • Government funding: Many residents use Home Care Packages (HCP) or the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) to contribute to their in-home services. From 1 November 2025, the new Support at Home program will replace HCP and STRC, with CHSP transitioning no earlier than 1 July 2027.
  • Village costs: LDK uses a transparent model. The Village Membership Fee is paid upfront or deferred until exit. It is not paid monthly. We will explain what is and is not included before you decide.
  • Private services: You can add privately funded services or short-term respite as needed.

Why older people choose LDK
