Our story

How it all started —
Meet Paul

LDK Seniors’ Living was founded in 2019 by Paul Browne, our Founder and Director, who has more than 20 years of experience in the sector. His vision grew from personal experiences with older Australians that inspired him to create something better.

Paul saw the stark difference between the vibrant lifestyle of a retirement village and the institutional feel of a nursing home. Too often, residents were forced to leave their homes and communities behind as their care needs increased — losing their lifestyle, privacy, freedom and purpose.

He set out to change that. Paul’s idea was simple but revolutionary: to bring together the independence and vibrancy of retirement living with the full continuum of care, all in one place. This integrated model allows older Australians to enjoy the lifestyle they want, with the care they need, for life.

Today, Paul’s vision has grown into thriving villages across Australia — each a place where residents feel at home, supported, and part of a vibrant community.

Our care

Care that adapts to your needs

LDK operates under the Retirement Villages Act 2012 and is an approved provider for Residential Aged Care and Home Care under the Aged Care Act 1997 (Cth). But we do things differently.

We deliver care in residents’ own homes within the village, using a consumer-directed home care approach. This ensures continuity and quality of care at every stage of the ageing journey.

Our care includes:

  • Domestic assistance and personal care
  • Clinical care from registered nurses
  • High care, dementia care and palliative support
  • 24/7 on-site teams
  • Planned and unplanned care

Care is tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences, with a personalised plan developed in partnership with them and their family. We also help residents access government funding, private payment options, or a mix of both.

At LDK, residents maintain their independence — with the peace of mind that support is always close at hand.

Our costs

Clarity. Certainty. Confidence.

We’ve reimagined the traditional pricing model within the retirement living and aged care sector to make it simple and transparent.

There are three key components:

  1. Cost of your dwelling
    You’ll receive the full cost back when you exit (depending on your chosen membership option).
  2. Village membership fee
    Pay upfront or defer until exit — the choice is yours.
  3. Ongoing living expenses
    A fixed weekly fee that covers essentials like electricity, water, phone and internet. It’s locked in for life at entry, so you’ll always know where you stand.

Our membership specialists provide clear, personalised cost summaries, including meals and care options based on any government subsidies you may be eligible for.
