Summary

This policy outlines how LDK Seniors’ Living supports residents to make informed decisions about their health care and financial matters, consistent with the Aged Care Act 2024 and the
Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

The policy reinforces each resident’s right to autonomy, dignity and choice, and sets out how staff will:

  • obtain informed consent for care and services
  • support residents who may have limited or changing decision-making capacity
  • work with registered supporters or appointed decision-makers under ACT and NSW legislation
  • respect residents’ wishes in end-of-life documentation and Not-For-Resuscitation orders
