A Note from Our CEO, Byron Cannon

To our friends and to the wider community,

As many of you are aware, the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation in March 2020.

LDK Seniors’ Living™, like many businesses around the world, is closely following the news and advice from the Australian Government. Although these are unprecedented times, LDK would like to reassure everybody that we have our resident’s and staff’s wellbeing at the forefront of our minds. LDK is and always will be a people- first business.

LDK is continuing to follow the advice, fact-sheets and guidelines issued by the Commonwealth Department of Health and has implemented strict protocols internally to ensure the safety of our residents and village based team members. LDK has a strong leadership team, with a wealth of expertise and experience who are meeting frequently to review the unfolding situation and regularly communicate with residents, their loved ones and staff to explain decisions as they are made.

LDK would also like to echo the sentiment of the Government to remain calm, follow the guidelines and restrictions issues by the State and Federal Governments, look out for each other and most importantly to practice love, decency and kindness to those around us during this difficult time.

With the easing of restrictions, it remains more important than ever to continue to remain vigilant with hand and respiratory hygiene and continue to practice social distancing.

If you have any questions or concerns, or would like further information, please contact or call 1300 535 000.

With Love, Decency and Kindness,

Byron Cannon
CEO, LDK Seniors’ Living

Keeping Our Residents and Staff Safe

To ensure the ongoing health and safety of our residents and staff, LDK has implemented all Government measures and introduced additional protocols to safeguard against COVID-19. These include:

  • All staff have their temperature checked at each shift, to confirm they are not febrile.
  • All essential visitors and contractors must sign in at the village receptions and have their temperature checked, to keep our team abreast of who is coming in and out of our communities.
  • Any visitors returning from overseas, a declared COVID-19 Hot Spot, or anyone who is unwell are being asked to stay away from our villages. We know this is hard, but we want to keep our residents and staff safe.

LDK continues to closely monitor the ongoing situation and will continue to act on Government advice.

In the meantime, LDK will remain vigilant by enforcing the best defence against COVID-19. This is to:

Wash hands regularly with warm soapy water for a minimum of 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer

Cough or sneeze into tissues or the crook of the arm, disposing of the tissue and washing hands or sanitising immediately

Limit close contact with other people wherever possible. Maintain a distance of 1 person per 4 square metres

Practice social distancing – staying at least 1.5 metres away from others, where possible

Thank you for your understanding and participation in adopting the safety protocols which will help to keep our residents and staff as safe as possible.
